Tom Schaar: The First Person to Land a 1080...

March 26 marked the first time in the history of skateboarding that anyone had landed a 1080 and had the footage to prove it – shockingly completed by 12-year-old Tom Schaar. Skating since he was four, the logical progression from 540 to 900 to 1080 occurred naturally as if there was no doubt that Schaar would be able to pull it off. Comprised of three complete rotations, Schaar was able to achieve the amazing feat after only five attempts on the mega ramp at Woodward.  To put in in perspective, Tony Hawk, the worlds most well known skateboarder didn't land a 900 until he was 30 and has never completed a 1080.  So basically this Tom Schaar kid is gonna be one to watch in years to come!

In addition, Tom Schaar holds the distinction of also being the youngest X Games gold medalist after taking home the top prize in Beijing at the MiniMega Event.

Barry McGee at Prism Gallery...

One of my all time favorite artists Barry Mcgee just opened the doors to a solo exhibition at the Prism Gallery in Los Angeles.  His first show there was a duo show with another great artist Phil Frost.  The show looks great, check it out if you're in L.A. before June 30th.

Dallas Cowboys Stadium shoot...

I recently got to photograph Jerry Jones for Forbes Magazine.  Here's an iPhone shot of my photo assistant David on the 50 yard line as we were getting a set built.  I'll post the portrait when I'm allowed.  That place is pretty amazing though!

Brek Shea Portraits...

I recently got the opportunity to shoot the incredibly talented soccer star, Brek Shea for Texas Monthly.  Brek is an American soccer player who plays as a midfielder for FC Dallas in Major League Soccer and the United States national team.  The dude was super cool and a lot of fun to work with!  Best of luck Brek!
